Jessica Chastain British GQ January 2013 Cover

Leopard print lingerie and Osama Bin Laden have been connected for the first time thanks to British GQ. Actress Jessica Chastain dons leopard print lingerie in the January 2013 issue of British GQ. Jessica also discusses and promotes her film, Zero Dark Thirty, in the issue. The film is about the events that led to the capture of Bin Laden. You can see some of the cover shoot photographs here. The cover shoot was photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth.

In the interview, Jessica tells GQ that Zero Dark Thirty will make news. Jessica says, “This film will make news. We all think we know how it ended. We don’t. And this movie is about how it really ended. It is shocking. When I first read the script, I was blown away by this woman. The sacrifices she made and what she had to do. It’s something I still get very emotional about. What happens when you live for this one goal? And then you achieve it.”

The film has indeed made news. Senator John McCain says he was sickened by the Khalid Sheikh Mohammed torture scenes. He also doesn’t believe techniques used on Khalid Sheikh Mohammed led to accurate information. Also, Under Secretary of Defense Michael Vickers is reportedly under investigation for leaking information to the filmmakers.

PostHeaderIcon Weekend Reading: Our Elf Dropped a Deuce Edition

Article Source: Online Shopping Store

I am really enjoying this time of year with my family. Both old and new traditions abound everywhere. One of the new traditions in our home is the famed Elf on the Shelf which has caused some interesting questions from my kids the past couple weeks. Then look what our elf did last night….

My kids weren’t sure how to react to finding this. Disbelief, amazement, and awe were definitely painted on their faces. This elf has been all over our house and has obviously made himself incredibly comfortable. But this? Come on Jack, at least have the decency to flush. Am I right? Anyways, here is some reading that I really enjoyed this week, followed by a blast from the past from this blog.

  • Joanna @ Our Freaking Budget
Speaking of Christmas traditions, Joanna writes about her Cheap (and Weird) Christmas Tradition where she and her husband Johnny go to the dollar store and shop for some fun and wacky gifts. I love this idea, you can find some really hilarious gifts at the dollar store! As I wrote earlier this week, my kids actually do this every year as well.

  • Michelle @ See Debt Run
Michelle wrote an excellent post on Great Part-time Jobs For Busy Parents that is chalked full of good resources. Something she said at the end of the post stuck with me: “Find something you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” AMEN!

  • Mike @ The Gizzard Stone
With Christmas break on the horizon many families will be heading off to play in the snow. So when I saw Mike’s post titled Skiing With Toddlers I wanted to pass it along. The post has a bunch of great tips (and fun tips) on how to get your kids to love skiing.

A Blast From The Past:

My post Frugal Ways to Get in Shape is from way back in October 2007. I had lost a good chunk of weight and documented some of the frugal ways that I did it.

Side Note: Speaking of extra weight, I need to find my eatin’ pants. Does anybody else have eatin’ pants? You know, the pair with a little extra room around the waist that you pull out at Thanksgiving and Christmas so you can squeeze an extra piece of pumpkin pie down your gullet. Anyone? Please tell me I am not alone here.

Happy reading and have a great weekend y’all!

Colbie Caillat Christmas in the Sand

Colbie Caillat has released the music video for her new Christmas song, “Christmas in the Sand.” The song is the catchy title track from her new holiday album, Christmas in the Sand. Not everyone is dreaming of a white Christmas. This music video is set on the beach. Santa Claus is enjoying the waves on his surfboard. Colbie is also at the beach in a red and white swimsuit.
